Features and Application of PVC-UH Pipes for Sewage and Drainage

1.PVC-UH pipe overview
High performance rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC-UH) sewage and drainage pipes are made of PVC mixed materials and are extruded with an integrated steel skeleton sealing ring socket structure. The integrated expansion structure means that the steel skeleton rubber sealing ring is embedded in the expansion groove while the pipe is expanded, forming an integrated steel skeleton rubber sealing ring socket structure. In the case of non-destructive conditions, the sealing ring in the socket cannot be removed.
PVC-UH sewage and drainage pipes are suitable for underground and pipe gallery sewage and drainage pipes with a medium temperature of no more than 45°C and PN (nominal pressure) of no more than 0.63MPa. It can also be used for industrial sewage pipes under the conditions of meeting the chemical resistance and heat resistance of the pipe.
2.Material requirements
The mixed materials for producing pipes should be mainly polyvinyl chloride resin, and the mass content of polyvinyl chloride resin should not be less than 80%, and necessary additives should be added. The mixed materials are a uniform mixture of the basic resin PVC and various necessary additives, which are the raw materials for direct extrusion of PVC pipes. The selection and formulation of raw and auxiliary materials in the mixed materials play a vital role in the performance and long-term service life of the product.
3.Allowable internal pressure and external pressure resistance of the pipe
3.1 Ring stiffness
The ring stiffness numerical index of the pipe indicates the ability of the plastic buried drainage pipe to resist external pressure load. If the ring stiffness of the pipe is too small, the pipe may be over-deformed or fail due to compression buckling.
For pipes of the same outer diameter, the thicker the wall and the greater the ring stiffness, the greater the ability to resist external pressure and deformation.
3.2 Permissible internal pressure and external pressure resistance of PVC-UH sewage and drainage pipes
PVC-UH sewage and drainage pipes have excellent resistance to internal and external pressures, and can better adapt to the internal pressure under full state. At the same time, the pipes are solid wall pipes with uniform resistance to internal and external pressures, which can ensure a more stable long-term service life.
