Downstream

Downstream for plastic materials refers to the equipment and processes involved in the final stages of the extrusion process, where the extruded pipes, profiles, pellets are cooled, shaped, cut, and finished for packaging and delivery. The downstream equipment is critical for ensuring that the plastic products meet the required standards of quality, size, and performance. This stage typically includes various systems, all working together to finalize the pipe production.

Vacuum Tank

After the pipes, profiles are extruded from die head, it needs to be calibrated and cooled quickly to solidify the thermoplastic material and prevent warping or deformation through a controlled vacuum and water cooling zone.

Cooling Tank

In certain plastic production processes, or in high-speed production, after the pipe exits the vacuum tank, it is still in a molten or soft state, requiring rapid cooling to maintain its shape, strength, and surface finish.

Hauler

The haul-off unit is responsible for pulling the extruded product through the downstream equipment. It ensures that the pipe moves through the cooling and cutting sections at the correct speed, maintaining consistent tension and preventing buckling or deformation.

Cutter

Once the product is cooled and pulled through the system, it is typically cut into predetermined lengths by a cutting machine. There are several cutting methods, including planetary cutters, non-dust cutters, fly cutters, saw cutters, depending on the type of product and its required dimensions.

Pelletizer

Pelletizers can be configured for different pelletizing methods, such as strand pelletizing, water-ring pelletizing, die-face pelletizing, or underwater pelletizing. These methods allow the equipment to cater to different processing needs, depending on the type of plastic and the desired output.

Socketing

Socketing machine is used for creating socketed ends on pipes, such as solvent type, rubber ring type, rectangle type, ensuring a secure and leak-proof joint when the pipes are connected with fittings or other pipes.

Online Auto Winding & Packing System

Once the pipe has been cut to the required length and marked, it is ready for handling and packaging. Coil winder and packing system organizes the pipes for storage and transportation.
